Construction Equipment Trade

Cross-border supply of construction machinery, earthmoving attachments and electrical plant equipment, contracted out of Hong Kong.

Overview

The equipment desk is the oldest activity in the group and the reason the company exists in Hong Kong. It buys machinery and electrical plant from qualified manufacturers, contracts on its own account, and delivers to end users and distributors abroad.

Scope of work

  • Trenchers, excavator attachments and earthmoving plant
  • Electrical equipment and switchgear for site power
  • Supplier qualification and pre-shipment inspection
  • FOB / CIF / CFR contracting under Incoterms 2020
  • Consolidation, documentation and freight coordination
01

What is traded

Earthmoving and trenching machinery, excavator attachments and the wear parts that go with them; electrical equipment and switchgear used to power a site. Enquiries are answered against a written specification — model, capacity, voltage, duty cycle and the standard the equipment must meet in the destination country.

The company does not hold a standing catalogue. Each contract is sourced against the buyer’s specification, which is why the site does not publish a product list it cannot honour.

02

Supplier qualification

Manufacturers are qualified before an order is placed: business licence and scope of business, production capability for the specified model, export history, and the certification the equipment carries. Where the buyer requires it, a third-party pre-shipment inspection is arranged and the report is released with the shipping documents.

Supplier and customer names are held in confidence and are disclosed only to banks and regulators entitled to ask for them.

03

Contracting and delivery

Sales contracts are concluded in Hong Kong and governed by Hong Kong law. Delivery terms follow Incoterms 2020 — normally FOB at a mainland Chinese port, or CIF / CFR to the buyer’s port of discharge.

Payment moves against documents. Title passes on the terms written into the contract, not on the strength of an email.
